GRID

You are a reactor inspector.

Twenty-eight rods on the board. Open one. Look inside. Sign it if it is normal. Reject it if it is not.

Sign an anomalous rod and the core melts. You die.

Three resources

T — battery. It drains while a rod is open. Looking takes time. When it runs out, the shift ends.

E — exposure. Verification raises it. It does not come back down. Reach the cap and you die.

C — power. This star's currency. Living costs are deducted each night. Run out and you die.

The three compete. Look carefully and you run out of time. Verify and your body pays. Process too few and your life collapses.

This is a prototype

Not a finished game. It is a test build for difficulty calibration.

Anonymous play records (decision logs, resource trends) are sent to the developer. No personal information is included. The same notice appears on the in-game briefing screen.

What I'm asking for

What I want to know is what you looked at before you decided.

  • When you signed or rejected, what did you base it on?
  • Which features you used, and which you didn't. Why, in each case.
  • Did the way you decided change partway through? If so, around where?

Blunt criticism is the most useful kind.

Who this is for

There is no satisfying release. The tension does not let up. If you can sit with an inspection game like Papers, Please, you'll probably be fine.

Two to three minutes a day; twenty to thirty minutes for a full run. If you die, you're done — that's a complete run.

PC recommended.

Thank you for reading this far. Please give it a try.
